Lovely Turquoise hand carved scarab beetle with a surprise on the backside!
This is a large, hand carved piece of Turquoise that made into a cute scarab beetle. It has nice details and a smiling face.
I fabricated a prong setting out of solid sterling silver for our insect friend. On the back side is an Eye of Horus design, a symbol in ancient Egypt that represents well-being, healing, and protection.
The eye itself is a 5mm opal gemstone with great rainbow sparkle.
The pendant hangs off a very thick sterling silver chain, much heavier than your average chain. The whole necklace has a substantial feel to it.
The stone is 11.4 carats in weight and 18mm x 13mm x 7.5mm in size.
The silver chain is 18" long and has a large lobster clap with turquoise, opal and pearl bead charms.
